Tetsuya Yamamoto has received several awards: 1st Prize and Special Prize at “The 6th International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition” in 2015, Honorable mention at “The 7th JFC Composers Award” in 2013 also he got a favorable reception about performance of the slide whistle in critique, Representation from Japan at “The 31st ACL Festival & Conference in Singapore Young Composers Competition” in 2013, Finalist at “The 9th Thailand International Composers Competition” in 2013, Incentive Prize at “The JASSO Excellent Student Grant” in 2012, Jury’s Prize at “The 12th TIAA Japanese Composers Competition” in 2012, Prize Winner at “The 27th JSCM Composers Award” in 2010, 1st Prize and Special Prize by the Mayor of Hirosaki at “The 8th Hirosaki Cherry-garden Composition Competition” in 2010, 2nd Prize at “The 2nd Hiroshima Composition Competition” in 2010, Excellence Prize at “The 43rd and 44th Shimpei Nakayama Music Prize” in 2007 and 2008.
His works performed in several festivals: In 2011, “Gobyu” (Logical Fallacy) was selected for invitation piece at the “Festival 5 Giornate” which is contemporary music festival held in Milano. In 2014, “cross stitch” was selected Call for Scores at the “35th Bowling Green New Music Festival” which is held in Ohio, USA. He has deployed a wide range of musical activities such as organizing concerts by same generation composers and excellent musicians. His work has mainly in contemporary music and he has also composed for wind band. His works have been performed in Japan, Italy, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, USA, France and Germany.
He is member of the “Association Franco-Japonaise de la Musique Contemporaine”.
