Shoryu Itazu was born in Japan in 1973. He moved to London and completed a Master's degree at Goldsmiths College, University of London, External Postgraduate Program at Royal Academy of Music and Senate House, the University of London where he also researched composition and cultural humanities attending Doctorial course. He won SONY student composition prize and selected many prizes including International Society of Bassists composition prize, International Carl von Ossietzky composition prize. Also, selected the concerts "Japanese composers 2003, 2008 and 2012" supported by Agency for Cultural Affairs, Asian International Music Festival and ISCM World Music Days 2011 and 2014. He studied under Edward Gregson, Sadie Harrison, and Michael Finnissy. His works are performed, published and broadcasted all over the world. Also working as Arts and Cultural Science Researcher, YouTube Shochannel TV, and Writer.
