Giovanni Bataloni
Musician, choir conductor and composer. Born in 1969, he lives and works between Milan and Switzerland. He graduated in Composition at the Conservatory "G. Verdi" of Como, where he also graduated in Choral music and Choir Direction and attended to Electronic Music course. He also studied Choir Direction with Morten Schuldt-Jensen at the Musikhochschule Freiburg (D).
Among his most recent works there are choral music, music for the theatre, and several chamber music works dedicated to various instruments. With the original music for the pièce Stria he performed in Milano, Verona, Varese, Como, Roma, Palermo and at the Inscena NYC Festival (Italian Theatre Festival in New York City).
His compositions and arrangements has been performed in several concert seasons like MiTo (Milano) Associazione Noema (Milano), Mobile Musik (Hannover), Word Harp Congress (Sidney), Musicamorfosi (Milano), ‘900 e presente (Lugano), Microludi (Milano). He took part to the European project Rencontres entre Compositeurs et Interprètes of Syntono Association (Paris- Athene, 2005).
He collaborated as an arranger, pianist and composer to several productions, and to the soundtrack of the short film Amat-Deus (produced by Don Gnocchi Foundation, RAI, Pubblicità Progresso). He produced the soundtrack for the short film Urban Dream of the director Carola Di Scipio on text by M. Baraldi.
His composition Dripping (for Cello solo) has been awarded in 2003 at the Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Città di Pavia. He released CDs (Piano Imbiss, Deiopea, Serial Trio #0). His works are also published by Rugginenti Editore (Milano) Edizioni Carrara (Bergamo) and by Da Vinci Publishing (Osaka).
