Marilinda Berto is not just a musician: her talent and curiosity led her to study every shade of the “Musical World”. Thanks to her versatile musical attitude she became saxophonist, music teacher, composer, choirmaster and finally musical strategy ‘researcher’. Mrs. Berto began her concert activity in 1994, performing in a duet with Luca Colombarolli (Contrapuntal Motion). In 1998 she achieved the Saxophone diploma under the direction of Master Marco Falaschi at the Conservatory of Mantua, where she started studying musical composition with Mr. Gabrio Taglietti.
In May 1999 she is one of the “Fire Sax Quartet” promoters. In the same year, at the “Due Mondi” Festival in Città di Castello, she takes part to the first global execution of “Studi sull’intonazione del mare” by Master Salvatore Sciarrino. With the woodwind Ensemble “Città di Goito”, led by Master Renzo Leasi, she performed not only in Italy, but also in other European countries (Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Spain) and even in the USA;
On these special occasions the woodwind Ensemble also performs a jazz repertoire, playing with Emilio Soana, Marco Tamburini, Mauro Negri, Carlo Cantini, Hengel Gualdi, Romano Mussolini e Tullio De Piscopo.
Marilinda Berto studied pedagogy and musical didactics under the direction of Masters Wolfgang Hartman, Paola Della Camera, Ciro Paduano, Paolo Cerlatti, Sofia Lopez-Ibor.
Moreover she studied choir conducting with Masters Mario Lanaro, Sebastian Korn and Bojan Porgmilovic.
In 2002 she’s one of the promoters of the Musical Academy “Giovanni e Sergio Martinelli” (Sandrà di Castelnuovo del Garda –VR-) where, besides the role of saxophone and choir teacher, she performs as Artistic Director. In 2008 she founds and manages the so called “Coro Anch’io” choir.
In the same year she starts cooperating with the famous pianistic duo Laura & Beatrice Puiu performing “Un concerto tra le fiabe”, -a sort of musical trip with theatrical animation dedicated to children- and “Lo Schiaccianoci”, in collaboration with the actress Paola Compostela.
With the same pianistic duo she takes part to the cultural meetings for the International Association SferMusic of “La Bottega delle Arti”. In 2009 the Wicky musical editions of Milan publishes her scores “Pensando a Zora” for trumpet and piano, “Divertimento” for a saxophone quartet, “Burlesca” for saxophone and piano.
The same year, in October, she founds and manages “Un Coro per Amico”, a white voices choir of the Musical Academy Giovanni & Sergio Martinelli. In 2016 she founds and manages the “Choir of Peace”, with which, in the same year, she performed for the first time in the Roman Theater of Verona during the event “Dedicato a Te” with the project “The Peacemakers”, by Jenkins.
Besides the teaching and concert activity, from 2003 to 2017 she studies composition with the illustrious Master Giancarlo Facchinetti, considered as “The Master of the masters” by the whole music world and unforgettable ,father’ of Marilinda Berto.
