Stefano Cencetti, an Italian composer, conductor and pianist, was born on May 15, 1972, in San Gimignano, Italy.
Stefano Cencetti conducts and plays piano in concerts, plays organ at religious functions (anniversaries, celebrations, weddings, special religious occasions), and composes musical pieces and operas for orchestra and voice.
He is a primary school Special Needs Teacher in the Italian state school system, and teaches music at local music schools.

In his formal education, he was awarded a Diploma in Primary School teaching in 1990.
He learned the piano when very young, and pursued his formal academic education in piano studies at the "Cherubini" National State Conservatory of Music in Florence, where he obtained his Piano Diploma in 1994 under Maestro Giorgio Sacchetti, and in 2002 in Choir Music and Conducting under the supervision of Maestro Gian Paolo Mazzoli. At the same Conservatory he also achieved middle grades in Organ and Organ Composition studies, under Maestro Cosimo Candido.
After his curriculum studies, starting in 2002 he went on to study Composition in Livorno, with Maestro Fulvio Pietramala, Musical Analyisis in Florence with Maestro Antonio Anichini, Operatic Singing with Soprano Sarina Rausa, and Organ and Gregorian Chant with Maestro Antonio Galanti (Pisa).
He studied Conducting with Maestro Bruno Rigacci for an operatic repertoire, and with Maestro Raffaele Napoli, up to the present time (2018), for Symphonic Repertoire, coming into contact with Sergiu Celibidache's poetic thought and technique.
Among the many works he has composed for music schools, special recitals and Primary Schools (L'harpe qui joue pour elle, Mielankoliia, Bambolo), he has also composed two sacred operas and a Mass: La Santa delle Viole in 2002, Piccola Messa in Mi detta Butterfly in 2004, Regina della Strada in 2006, this last conducted and performed on several occasions (2006-2009). Performances of his compositions have garnered praise from audiences and critics alike, including Giorgio Gaslini and Arturo Sacchetti.
In 2016 he composed and curated the music for the theatre piece Il Cortile delle Donne Matte, with choreography by Luisa Guicciardini.
