The collective imagination of Romanticism still has today an artistic and musical perspective whose core is the continuous struggle between the sublime, inexpressible in words, and the transcendental, therefore tangibly inexpressible. An opposition dating back to the 12th century Sturm und Drang: the tension to everything that cannot have verbal expression and that only in the art of sounds can be fully satisfied.
