Alfonso Rendano’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, in a critical edition by Giancosimo Russo. The volume includes an extensive introduction and critical commentary in Italian, discussing the work’s genesis and performance history, the surviving sources, and the editorial decisions underpinning the score.
As Russo explains in his introduction, his research led to the rediscovery in 2019 of orchestral materials preserved by the composer’s descendants. The edition draws on the Ruffolo-Rendano materials and the sources held at the Biblioteca Civica di Cosenza, including the orchestral parts issued by Ricordi in 1884–85.
The concerto comprises three movements: Largo – Allegro risoluto, Romanza and Pasquinade.
This volume contains the full score. Individual instrumental parts are not included; digital or physical performance materials are available for hire by contacting info@davinci-edition.com.
