Biography

Alessandro Dominguez
Born in 2001 in Perugia, Alessandro Dominguez began studying classical guitar at the age of 11 under Marco Zucchini.

He earned his Second Level Diploma in guitar with the highest honours, Praise, and Special Mention for "the high interpretative level of the final exam" from the “L. Boccherini” Conservatory in Lucca, under the guidance of Giampaolo Bandini. He completed the Postgraduate Universitätslehrgang at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with top marks, studying under Andrea De Vitis.

He has won over 10 first prizes in national and international competitions, including "Andrès Segovia" (Pescara), "Giulio Rospigliosi," and the special "Niccolò Paganini" prize. He has received scholarships from the Lions Club and Rotary Club, reserved for the best musicians at the “L. Boccherini” Conservatory.

Dominguez collaborates with composers such as Marco Ramelli, Giovanni Scapecchi, Franco Cavallone, and Lorenzo Sorgi, and has been the dedicatee of several works for solo guitar and chamber ensembles. In 2021, as an author, he conceived and wrote “Il Dovere di Ricordare,” a narrative concert for guitar, soprano, and narrator, featuring original music composed in concentration camps.

In 2022, he formed the Duo Martini – Dominguez with soprano Aurora Martini. They are dedicated to studying and performing 19th-century repertoire on an original 1812 Gennaro Fabricatore instrument, as well as original 20th and 21st-century repertoire, collaborating with composers such as D. Bogdanovic, A. Ourkouzounov, S. Goss, and G. Scapecchi.

Currently, they are furthering their studies at the “A. Boito” Conservatory in Parma under Pierpaolo Maurizzi (Master in Chamber Music), at the Accademia della Società dei Concerti in Parma with Alberto Miodini, and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena (receiving the "Diploma di Merito" in 2023 from Maestro Oscar Ghiglia). He regularly performs in Italy and abroad as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles.
