António Luís Silva

Biography

António Luís Silva is a Portuguese pianist, composer and improviser with a particular interest in contemporary Asian piano music.

He trained with Carla Seixas, Jill Lawson and Álvaro Teixeira Lopes and studied at institutions in Lisbon, Castelo Branco and Aveiro. His performing career includes appearances in Portugal, Spain, France, Mexico, Turkey, South Korea and Japan. A prize-winner in several international competitions, he has collaborated with the West Mexico Symphony Orchestra and Filarmonia das Beiras. Following a chamber recording with Tiago Nunes, his first solo album for Da Vinci Classics is devoted entirely to Japanese composers.
