Biography
Arianna Vendittelli: Arianna made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Carmi in Mozart’s Betulia liberata under the baton of Riccardo Muti.
Recognized for her work in the Baroque repertoire, she sang the title role in Handel’s Serse in Italy and in Beaune, Amanzio in Vivaldi’s Giustino in Lausanne and the title role in Hasse’s Semele at Theater an der Wien. Fond of Mozart, Arianna was Donna Elvira in Beaune and Bremen under Jérémie Rhorer and appeared as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Spoleto Festival with James Conlon. In Così fan tutte she starred as Fiordiligi in a Pier Luigi Pizzi production in several Italian theatres. She gave a Mozart recital with Alessandro De Marchi and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. Still under the baton of Maestro De Marchi she performed the Vesperae solennes de Confessore and the Krönungsmesse. She embodied the role of Eurydice in Gluck’s Orphée ed Eurydice in Baden-Baden in a John Neumeier production. She has won acclaim for her interpretations of Rossini singing the title role in Ermione (Alessandro De Marchi/ Jacopo Spirei) and Amaltea in Mosè in Egitto (Stefano Montanari/David Pountne) both for the Naples Teatro di San Carlo. She performed Matilde in Elisabetta Regina d’Inghilterra under Jean-Christophe Spinosi. Furthermore, Arianna has distinguished herself in (post)-Romantic repertoire interpreting the title roles in these works: Gisela! by Hans Werner Henze for the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Il Segreto di Susanna by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari at La Fenice and Gina by Francesco Cilea also in Venice.
