Emma Baiguera

Biography

Emma Baiguera (1999) first approached the classical guitar under the guidance of teacher Romina Brentan.

Her academic career starts at the Conservatory of Brescia with teacher Marco Taio, and then peaked with her master's degree with honor for artistic merits from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Milan in 2023 under the guidance of Maria Vittoria Jedlowski.
During her studies, she took special interest in researching female authors and composers, building up an original repertoire that showcases pieces from different ages and styles. Her research led to invitations to perform at events organized by associations such as "Donne Oltre" and Milan's Conservatory very own project "Il Filo d'Arianna". During last years she collaborated with many composers: Annette Kruisbrink, Beatrice Campodonico, Rita Portera and Carmen Fizzarotti.
In 2023 she worked with the composer Carmen Fizzarotti for the realization of a piece called “As vagas circulares” winning the III prize at International Guitar Composition Competition “Alvaro Company” 2023. In the same year she played in concert music by female authors during the exhibition “Rosa Sonora” in Savigliano. After she won the scholarship for the “Rotenburg Guitar Festival” where she collaborated directly with the guitarist Annette Kruisbrink working on her pieces.
As well as a performer, she is also a teacher: she has been working for "Helios Music" since 2018, and collaborating with "Diamo il La" Association in activities for preschools as well as the creation of musical videos for kids. Since 2022 she has been working for “MITO” Association in propedeutic music activity in elementary schools in Milan. She has performed at “Le Altre Note” International Festival and collaborated with “GIA”Association in Brescia. She attended masterclass courses with teacher Enea Leone. Since 2021 she has been playing in a stable guitar trio with Francesco Molmenti and Davide Moneta. This project is called “In Tempore Belli” and it’s dedicated to baroque music. In 2020 and 2021 she was also invited as a guest at the Symposium of Biocentric Education of Turin. She also takes an interest in the therapeutic side of music: in 2021 she was admitted into the School of Music Therapy of Milan, and she is also a live music performer in Biodance sessions organized by her teacher, Maria Vittoria Jedlowski, both within the Conservatory of Milan and in other projects.
