Born in Carpi in 2001, he began studying the mandolin with his father, Roberto Palumbo, and joined the plucked-string orchestra his father had founded. After completing his classical studies, he graduated with honours and a special distinction from the Conservatorio Luca Marenzio in Brescia, studying with Dorina Frati. He also graduated with honours in chamber music at the same institution.

He continued his training at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège with Vincent Beer-Demander and attended masterclasses including those given by Avi Avital at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona. Alongside his performing activities, he undertakes research at Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
