Biography

Fortuna Reditus Ensemble
Fortuna Reditus Ensemble is the reconstitution of the Cappella Musicale di San Giacomo Maggiore in Bologna, originally founded in 2006 to rediscover the musical heritage of the Augustinian friars between the 16th and 18th centuries.

In addition to recording and publishing the complete known works of Ippolito Ghezzi, the ensemble has transcribed and performed music by Carlo Milanuzzi, Guglielmo Lipparini, and Agostino Diruta. Concurrently, the group’s research and performance activities have expanded into the secular repertoire; the ensemble prepares its own transcriptions, leading to numerous recordings with labels such as Tactus (including Ghezzi’s complete works across 7 CDs), NovAntiqua, Echo, and Da Vinci. Their repertoire features diverse composers, including A. Scarlatti, A. Falconieri, C. Monteverdi, and his master, M.A. Ingegneri.
The theatrical group Teatro Antico was established as part of the ensemble's broader cultural initiatives. This collective of actors and musicians stages productions featuring live incidental music, ranging from Renaissance and Baroque comic intermezzi and comedies—such as C. Goldoni’s Il Raggiratore, L. Ariosto’s Il Negromante, and F. Albergati’s L’accademia di Musica and Le Convulsioni—to sacred dramas (including a mid-16th-century work dedicated to St. Martin, recorded for Tactus) and dramatic readings of Greek tragedies.
