Maria Vasquez, percussion
She was born in Venezuela and became part of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra from 2007 until 2013.

She performed both as a percussionist and as a pianist in solo and chamber music concerts in major venues in Caracas. She took part in several national and international tours with the orchestra and percussion ensembles, playing in Costa Rica, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden and the UK. She graduated with a Master of Music in piano from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (UK) (2015), and in percussion from Simon Bolivar University (Venezuela) (2017).  Now she teaches classical piano at Conservatoire de Versailles in France and studies jazz piano at Jean Wiener Conservatoire. From the piano, she develops a duo with the flutist Raizner Giraldo, arranging and performing Latin-American music and other styles. As a percussionist, she performs regularly with various orchestras and ensembles.
