ProgettOpera
Biography
ProgettOpera is an international chamber ensemble founded in 2025, bringing together six saxophones and percussion.
Its musicians come from Italy, France, Japan and South Africa. The ensemble reimagines Giacomo Puccini’s operas through instrumental dialogue, using arrangements prepared for the group by Nicola Hansalik Samale. Its first recording, Tosca: A Chamber Reimagining, explores the opera’s dramatic structure through the contrasting colours of the saxophone family and percussion. Concerts, recordings and interdisciplinary collaborations form part of its work on an original chamber repertoire drawn from Italian opera.
