Biography
Bernhard Krol (1920–2013) was a German composer and horn player. He studied in Berlin and continued his training in horn and composition with Josef Rufer in Vienna. His orchestral career included positions with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.
His compositions encompass orchestral, chamber and sacred music, with a particular affinity for wind instruments. Traditional tonal reference points coexist with the technical and expressive resources of twentieth-century instrumental writing. His Antifona appears on Da Vinci’s Passato | Presente.
