Gilles Binchois

Gilles Binchois (c. 1400-1460) was a Franco-Flemish composer associated with the Burgundian court. His chansons helped shape the lyrical style of fifteenth-century secular music. Their expressive melodies circulated widely and were performed in a variety of vocal and instrumental arrangements.
