J.M. Block

J. M. Block is an American composer and pianist whose output includes orchestral and chamber music, songs, electroacoustic works and solo pieces for piano, percussion and double bass. His Bâchage Prelude was selected for the Music as Play festival in Como in 2019. The work combines pitch patterns derived from the names Bach and Cage, linking contrapuntal writing with the toy piano’s modern concert repertoire.
