Biography
Mario Gangi (1923-2010) was an Italian guitarist, composer and teacher. Born in Rome, he trained at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory and combined classical guitar performance with a broad experience of jazz and popular music. His teaching in Naples and Rome helped shape generations of Italian guitarists. His legacy includes original compositions, studies, transcriptions and educational publications, notably his guitar method and the Dizionario chitarristico italiano, written with Carlo Carfagna.
