Oliviero Lacagnina

Oliviero Lacagnina is an Italian composer, arranger and conductor from Liguria. He obtained a choral-conducting diploma in Genoa in 1979, studied piano with Martha Del Vecchio and continued his orchestral-conducting training with Bruno Campanella in Florence.

His compositions have been performed in Europe and in countries including Brazil, New Zealand and Japan. His experience of writing for contemporary dance also informs concert works such as Steps, whose changing rhythmic layers suggest images and movement.
