Our piano is a Yamaha CFIII Grand Piano.
Exemplar of Yamaha's superb piano heritage, the CFIII concert grand is prized by performers and performing arts centres around the world.
Following extensive refinements and redesign, the current CFIII has emerged as an instrument of unprecedented virtuosity - an instrument that truly stands alone on the international concert stage. The CFIII was one of the most in demand concert instruments in the world. A staple for large concert halls, this instruments features all of the characteristics one seeks for this high caliber instrument.
Favored by prominent artists, concert halls, music festivals and educational institutions worldwide, it is also the piano of choice at many prestigious piano competitions, such as the International Chopin Competition and the Minnesota International Piano e-Competition. Yamaha artists, from longtime enthusiasts such as Frederic Chiu to newcomer Adam Marks, sing its praises.

OUR PLACE IS NOW SET ON PALAZZO CIGOLA-MARTINONI (Brescia)
La famiglia Cigola è radicata nel territorio sin dal XV secolo; i suoi membri si erano distinti come proprietari terrieri di grande abilità e intraprendenza bonificando parte dei terreni attorno al fiume Mella.
Fu solo nel 1510 che i monaci di Sant’Eufemia, proprietari di un appezzamento nel paese, donarono il terreno dove sorgerà poi l’attuale Palazzo Cigola Martinoni a Tommaso De Cegulis, scudiero di Luigi XII di Francia, sceso in Italia per conquistare il Ducato di Milano nell’anno 1500.
In un estimo del 1534, Calimero, figlio di Tommaso, risulta abitante in un edificio che può essere identificato con il cosiddetto “Torrione” cinquecentesco, il cui sviluppo verticale fa ancora parlare, impropriamente, di casa-torre, caratterizzato dal cornicione con mensole binate.
A questo edificio si aggiunsero alcune stanze al piano terra, dotate di portico, che avrebbero formato il nucleo dell’ala centrale; il palazzo doveva trovarsi in questo stato ancora nel 1723, data cui si riferisce una polizza d’estimo in cui i cinque figli di Alessandro Cigola vivono nel vecchio edificio e in tre stanze con portico immediatamente adiacenti.
Nulla sappiamo delle vicende del palazzo prima degli interventi settecenteschi; quello che pare certo è che nella seconda metà del seicento un edificio così strutturato e disorganico non poteva più essere adatto alla nuova posizione sociale della famiglia; infatti, Giovanbattista Cigola, nato nel 1628, riunì i beni di tutti rami estinti della sua stirpe, dando vita a un feudo di grande estensione.
