The singing voice of the clarinet

Fantasies on Verdi’s operas meet four of his chamber songs in this forthcoming recording with Dario Zingales, Paolo Taballione and Alessandro Misciasci. The programme brings together music for clarinet and piano, with flute joining in the fantasy on Don Carlos.

Arrangements by Luigi Bassi, Calogero Palermo, Marcello Serafini, Giuseppe Leonesi and Giovanni B. Pagnoncelli trace different routes from the stage to the chamber ensemble. Verdi’s La seduzione, Stornello, Il poveretto and Ad una stella are presented with the vocal line adapted for clarinet by Zingales.
