Flavio Perrella
Biography
Flavio Perrella is an Italian double bassist whose work brings together classical music, jazz and free improvisation. From an early age, he developed these interests in parallel, performing with symphony orchestras, modern and hard-bop jazz groups, and experimental ensembles.
His musical approach seeks a personal language that connects these different experiences. He moved to Paris in 2009, where he has performed both as a bandleader and as a sideman. His Da Vinci album Bowhopper features guitarist Simon Martineau and drummer Thomas Delor.
