Biography
Roberto Bastos, also known as Robertinho Bastos, is a Brazilian percussionist active in Italy. His work connects Brazilian rhythmic traditions with popular music, jazz and cross-cultural ensemble projects.
He has collaborated with musicians including Tullio De Piscopo and Sergio Caputo and is among the performers associated with Banda Brasileira. His recordings for Da Vinci include the percussion parts on Antonello Paliotti’s Long Shadows, where he joins an ensemble of guitar, clarinet, piano and double bass.
