Trio Gustav
Biography
Trio Gustav unites violinist Francesco Comisso, cellist Dario Destefano and pianist Olaf John Laneri. The ensemble grew from the long-standing artistic partnership of Comisso and Destefano and their shared wish to explore the piano-trio repertoire with Laneri.
Alongside works by Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Dvořák, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Shostakovich, they perform lesser-known Italian chamber music by composers including Bossi, Busoni, Casella, Martucci and Wolf-Ferrari. Their recordings for Da Vinci Classics and Brilliant Classics include complete cycles of piano trios. Da Vinci’s Mendelssohn recording brings together the trios in D minor, Op. 49, and C minor, Op. 66.
