Charles Doisy

Charles Doisy was a French guitarist, composer, teacher and publisher active around the turn of the nineteenth century. His music includes guitar duets and chamber works combining the guitar with wind or string instruments. His Principes généraux de la guitare documents a transitional period in the instrument’s history, including the use of five strings and the growing preference for single rather than doubled strings.
