Giovanni Daelli

Giovanni Daelli was an Italian oboist and composer active in nineteenth-century Milan. Associated with the orchestra of La Scala and the Milan Conservatory, he wrote virtuoso arrangements and fantasies drawing on operatic music, including works by Giuseppe Verdi. His fantasies for oboe or cor anglais and piano belong to the instrumental tradition of bringing operatic melodies into the salon.
