Giuseppe Rosetta

Giuseppe Rosetta (1901-1985) was an Italian composer, organist, choral conductor and teacher. A pupil of Ottorino Respighi, he returned to his native Vercelli after studying in Rome. Among his pupils was guitarist and composer Angelo Gilardino, whose encouragement contributed to Rosetta's interest in writing for the guitar. His music combines a clear formal sense with lyrical restraint and a strong connection to the Italian musical tradition. His guitar works include Mirage.
