WHAT IT MEANS ORGANIZE A CONCERT IN JAPAN!
More and more often we receive proposals to organize concerts in Japan but we are not an artists agency and we don’t’ provide such a service. All the time we try to explain our reasons and our difficulties, people are puzzled or disappointed, having sometimes a wrong idea of this country.
Japan is a very different reality where organize a concert is a really different experience. In Japan there are no real artistic directors, no support of institutions or government and all money need for culture is usually supported thanks to private sponsors and foundations or directly by the artists. The 90% of the artistic agencies of the country work hiring the concert hall and selling tickets. Rarely the concerto hall itself decides to provide any support, which anyway cover only a small part of the many items of expenditure which are necessary for made a concert a success.
For this purpose, we prepared a table as clear as possible about the basic costs that normally a concert organization have to face in order to organize a single event and a possible artist revenue.
