Album notes

Love of music, of family, of fewer notes and a quieter atmosphere: 2 of Us is a search for essentials, a meeting point between Vito Giordano and Fabio Lannino.

The project brings together different backgrounds and musical paths through a shared appreciation of space, silence and stylistic understanding. The musicians seek the same ease on stage that they enjoy around a table, valuing simplicity and authentic flavours.

The programme consists of original compositions by Lannino, Giordano and pianist Diego Spitaleri, together with a tribute to David Gilmour and Roger Waters in Wish You Were Here. Giordano plays trumpet and flugelhorn, Lannino bass, electric double bass and guitar, Spitaleri piano, and Ciccio Foresta drums. Carmen Avellone contributes the voice on the closing song.

Recorded live in February and March 2019 at the Real Teatro Santa Cecilia in Palermo, the album is supported by Fondazione The Brass Group. Federico Randisi recorded and mixed the performances; the photographs are by Barbara Milici.
