Winner of the Tampa Bay Symphony’s 2017 Composer Competition, performed by the Tampa Bay Symphony, at the Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg, FL. May 2, 2017. “Trifles” was one of four pieces done on the New Music Reading Session of the Alabama Symphony (May 2015), premiered by the Oklahoma Composer Orchestra (Jan. 2016) and received its second performance by the Friends University Community Orchestra (Feb. 2016). It has just been released on the ABLAZE Records label, bringing the total to five professional recordings that include works of Molineux.

Allen Walter Molineux ( Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, May 6, 1950 ) is an American composer, music teacher and trumpet player. He holds degrees in music composition from DePauw University, the Eastman School of Music and Florida State University. Aside from his administrative duties as music department chair at Claflin, he teaches Sophomore Theory, Arranging, Counterpoint and Form and Analysis. Not only has he had hundreds of performances or his works in the United States, Europe and Asia, but he also has 11 published compositions, two of which have been professionally recorded three times.
