About this edition

Luca Brembilla’s Santo Sepolcro, for Piano.

Author’s note

Composed for the piano series “Uno sguardo al presente” as part of the 62nd Brescia and Bergamo International Piano Festival, the piece pays homage to the city of Bergamo, where every evening at ten o’clock, the Campanone placed on the Civic Tower of Piazza Vecchia sounds one hundred chimes, enveloping the entire old town in an aura of ancient mystery. April 2025 Duration: approx. 4' Accidentals apply for the entire bar, but only to the specific pitch of the note to which they refer. Piano Preparation o Blu-tack on notes A₀, A♯₀, B₀ (throughout the piece). Notation: cross-shaped notehead o Metal rod – approximately 3 mm in diameter – fixed to the strings from A₁ to G₃ (from the beginning up to bar 44). The sound should not be excessively dampened and should contain a distortion caused by the vibration of the rod against the strings (or of the rods, in the case of using multiple units to cover the required range of notes). Notation: square notehead
