Alessandro Turchet

Biography

Alessandro Turchet is an Italian double bassist and electric bassist whose work spans jazz, contemporary music, tango, and chamber-oriented projects.

After early studies in electric bass, he trained as a double bassist with Romano Todesco and graduated under the guidance of Franco Feruglio, later refining his classical background with Mauro Muraro and Fabio Serafini. He further developed his jazz language with Marc Abrams.
Since 2000 Turchet has been active as both performer and teacher, building a wide discography of more than one hundred recordings. His collaborations include projects with Glauco Venier, Massimo De Mattia, Riccardo Chiarion, Riccardo Morpurgo, Lorena Favot, Gaetano Valli, Claudio Cojaniz, Jan Sturiale, U.T. Gandhi, and Quinteto Porteño.
A versatile and sensitive musician, Turchet combines solid instrumental craft with a strong chamber sensibility, moving naturally between written forms, improvisation, and the intimate dialogue of small ensembles.
