Biography
Luiz Bonfá (1922-2001) was a Brazilian guitarist, composer and singer. He studied classical guitar with Isaías Sávio and developed a distinctive style joining Brazilian popular music with refined instrumental technique. His music achieved international recognition through the film Black Orpheus, particularly Manhã de Carnaval. His work as a performer and composer helped introduce Brazilian guitar music to a worldwide audience.
