Biography
Martin Lohse, born in 1971, is a Danish composer and visual artist. He studied composition and music theory at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Niels Rosing-Schow and continued in the advanced composition class of Hans Abrahamsen, making his debut in Copenhagen in 2004.
His catalogue includes orchestral, choral, chamber and electroacoustic works. Melodic and tonal materials interact with layered tempi, slowly changing patterns and structures informed by mathematical and scientific ideas. Alongside composition, he has taught music theory at the Royal Danish Academy of Music since 2005.
