As the title suggests, this piece was inspired by the famous literary tòpos of “Love and Death”. It’s about the eternal dualism between life and death, aggregating principle and disintegrating one, order and chaos ecc.
To represent in the best way this dialectic, I used thematic elements from some operas of many composers, such as Wagner, Bizet and Puccini, each theme linked to the concept of love, death or, sometimes, both (for example the theme of the poison from Suor Angelica, that commits suicide for her child’s love).
Full of symbology and deep philosophical and musical meanings, “Eros e Thanatos” tries to mix a high musical value with a certain enjoyability. Once again the dualism…
