Fragmenta of Mission (2008) is a work for solo cello by Luca Pincini, published by Da Vinci Edition in 2023.
The score opens with the direction Liberamente, ma non troppo and includes arco ponticello, pizzicato and passages of left-hand percussion on the soundboard and ribs of the instrument.
Luca Pincini began his musical journey with guidance from his father and furthered his studies under Rocco Filippini, Franco Maggio Ormezowsky, and Misha Maisky. After graduating with honors, he honed his skills at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome and the Chigiana Academy in Siena. Luca served as the principal cellist for several prestigious Italian orchestras, including the Fenice Theater in Venice, Maggio Musicale in Florence, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, and the Rai National Symphony. Embracing a diverse range of styles and musical experiments, he also composes original pieces. His collaborations with pianist Gilda Buttà have showcased a vast repertoire. For years, he has worked closely with Ennio Morricone, both in Absolute Music, film scores like "The Phantom of the Opera", "The Good Pope", "Inverse Canon", "Perlasca", "Vatel", "The Unknown", and "The Best Offer", and in global concerts at venues such as Radio City Music Hall and ONU in New York, Herodes Atticus in Athens, Royal Albert Hall in London, Tokyo International Music Forum, Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Arena di Verona, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, National Theater of Rio De Janeiro, Piazza San Marco in Venice, and more. Ennio Morricone dedicated “Monody for solo cello” to him. Luca currently teaches cello at the “L.Refice” State Conservatory of Music in Frosinone.
