Marco Sollini: À la manière de… Rachmaninov, Op. 43, for Cello and Piano

About this edition

À la manière de… Rachmaninov, Op. 43, for cello and piano
Carpi, 21 March 2021
Dedicated to Gilda Buttà and Luca Pincini

À la manière de… Rachmaninov op.43 is a small homage to a composer whom Marco Sollini loves and frequently plays also as a pianist-interpreter. It is a short work, requiring a full understanding between the two instruments, whose voices enter into a perfectly symbiotic dialogue. The subtle chromatic movement characterizing the piece and the voices’ intertwining highlight its melancholic features. This piece is another of the numerous chamber music works written by the Composer during the two years of the pandemic, 2020 and 2021.
