Aphorismen des Meeres for cello and piano by Evans Koçja. The work won the “Amedeo Napoleone” Prize for Composition at the 12th International Music Competition “Annarosa Taddei” in 2024.
The edition comprises the score and a separate cello part. Duration: approximately seven minutes.
The score includes instructions for extended techniques on both instruments, including bow overpressure, irregular tremolo, harmonics and playing inside the piano. The cellist requires a mute; the pianist requires a plectrum and two soft timpani mallets.
“Open piano lid fully, remove music stand and/or place further back on the frame. […] The use of stickers to mark the notes inside the piano is suggested.”
