Description

Matteo D’Agostino’s Bacchus is presented here in the version for horn and piano by Federico Donadoni. The solo horn part is revised by Nilo Caracristi.

The work was inspired by the vineyards around Corno di Rosazzo. Its two movements evoke the planting and growth of the vines, followed by the grape harvest and a concluding dance of Bacchantes. A performance legend explains stopped, echo and open horn sounds, flutter-tonguing and multiphonics.

This publication is the sixteen-page piano reduction. The full score for horn and concert band is catalogued separately as DV 12356.
