Marco Sollini’s Il suono della magia, Op. 55, subtitled Magique Carillon, is written for three pianists at one piano. Composed in Porto Sant’Elpidio in June 2024, it is dedicated to the pianist and illusionist Antonio Casanova.
The work was conceived for the performance of the same name presented by the Sollini–Barbatano Duo with Casanova. Its theatrical design includes an exchange of places towards the end: the first pianist steps away to perform illusions while the third pianist takes over that position. The volume includes introductory notes in Italian and English.
